Make up storage

Why hello there!

Recently I had a massive room clear out and got rid of a lot of clothes from my wardrobe and some of it I gave to a charity shop. I like to think I'm quite good at decluttering and I managed to free up a lot of space including two drawers. A my old make up box was getting old and somewhat overflown I moved all of mu make up bits into a drawer in my wardrobe. I have sectioned everything neatly using boxes that different Boots three for two sets came in like their Ted Baker boxes.

Wardrobe drawers. Everything is a lot easier to find now.

A girl can never have too much make up, right?

All my nail varnishes are now stored in a Hugo Boss perfume box set.

I swatched every colour and if I'm looking for a specific one I wrote the name and brand on it too (organised much?!?)

In another box I've stored all my eye makeup including eye shadows, mascara, eyeliners and a sharpener.

In another box I've stored all my lip stuff including, balms, scrubs, lip pencils, lipsticks, lip glosses and because there wasn't enough room elsewhere I put my jazooli contouring kit in here too. Beneath this I put all my brushes in between.

I also put all my powders, foundations, primers, blusher and bronzer together in this box.

Behind all this I put all my body butters and other things I didn't know where to put..

This is where Mr body butters and Mrs body scrubs live.

Other body butters, hand creams, lotions and nail pens live here.

In this last box I have put all my nail stuff like false nails, nail glues or nail transfers.
I picked these funky falsies up in Primark for 50p!

I also keep these eyeliner transfers in here too. I haven't used them yet even though I've had them for quite a while.

I got these ages ago in Topshop and I think they look really cute. I'm just waiting for the right occasion to use them.

Boots, Topshop and Primark haul!

I went into town with my sister yesterday to do a spot of shopping, we had some lunch at Pizza Hut and we even saw our grandparents too!

I'll start with Primark. Because it is the Holy Grail of shops after all..

I got this dark green jumper for £3 reduced from £6. It was in the men's department, in a large size as I prefer the oversized look and I saw a similar one in Urban Outfitters once which was a lot more expensive.

I got two pieces of jewellery today, nothing else really took my fancy.
I liked this delicate little necklace. I really like the look of simple necklaces like this one that you could easily wear all the time.

So cute! And I don't usually wear gold jewellery either I tend to prefer silver. This was £4.50

I really like this chunky gold chain bracelet. It was £5.50

I picked up some face pads as I'm nearly running out! Then I bought a Boots tea tree and witch hazel face wash. This range is inexpensive, works a treat on me and leaves your skin feeling oh so soft! It's not a typical blogger buy but I love the Original Source shower gels. The line one smells so good!
I picked up a Seventeen primer as the one I use is a bit old and the pump no longer works which is annoying as it has about a quarter left and was very good. As I'm a bit of a magpie for nail polishes I also got a Seventeen graffiti polish, a Seventeen pearlescent polish and a Rimmel London bright orange polish too.

The pearlescent one is very similar to both a Topshop and a Model's Own shade. I really like the bright orange I think it would look really nice in the summer.

Each polish with two coats. The two nails on the left are the graffiti polish one with a black polish underneath and another just plain on a white nail wheel.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. Love, A x.

I got my hair did.

Hello! Is this thing on..?

I haven't blogged recently sorry about! I've had a few things on at the moment and I'm trying to sort stuff out. I want to get into a good routine of posting on a more regular basis, hopefully I will soon!

Last Thursday I got my hair coloured which was very exciting. I had light highlights put in last November time and at the beginning I didn't really like it but as time went by I really liked it! I only had a half head of highlights put in so after a few months I had a very obvious regrowth as I had quite dark brown hair before.

So I wanted to dye it darker again even though I liked having lighter hair, I think it would look better on me in the summer months! I couldn't decide what colour to pick between. Either a dark chocolate brown or another dark brown with red/mahogany shades to make it look shiny (such a first world problem, right?!)

Anyway here's the finished look!

Before and after!

Hope you liked this post, love A x

2013 tag- The Big Review!

Hello! I have been meaning to post this for ages and have simply forgot to do it! Lucy from Homemade Photography  very kindly tagged me to take part in this 2013 tag! I realise that its a little late as we've just crept into February but here it comes nonetheless!

So the rules of this tag are:
Link back to the blogger who tagged you.
Answer the questions below and tag 5 other bloggers to take part.
Also put a picture of the tag somewhere on your blog.

Your top five blogs you read in 2013?

Name one blog you wish you had found sooner?
Head-full-of-flowers definitely! The lovely Lizzie behind it is such a nice, warm person and this is totally reflected in her blog.

Your favourite blog post/s of 2013?
Oooh that's a tough one. I'd say the first two that came to mind were the ones I wrote on not going to university here. I really loved writing this post as it made me realise I had definitely made the right decision for me. I also received a lot of comments too from people who were either in or had been in the same position as me, which was really nice to see. Another favourite of mine was the Best Friend Forever? post. I had no idea others felt the same way I did/do.

What would you like to improve (if anything) on your blog this year?
I'd quite like to post a lot more regularly as sometimes I get a bit stuck for post ideas. Also I'd quite like to venture out into doing posts that are a little bit different like recipes.

Name one blog you have a crush on?
Ooh I think Vanillacrush! I love her blog and it looks so pretty :)

How often do you post?
I try to post every few days. However I go through waves of wanting to post 10 times a day to only one or two posts per month.

Share your first post of 2013
This is the post of 2013 I did about the snow.

Name one thing you'd be doing if you weren't writing this post right now?
Either watching Gossip Girl (I am obsessed!!) or playing with my puppy!

What have you loved about blogging this year?
I have formed friendships with some very lovely bloggers. And I know its not what blogging is all about, but I was so so pleased to find out my pageviews and followers/readers have increased dramatically over the last year! so THANKS everyone!!

I tag:

To take part in the 2013 tag!

Thanks for reading, I hope you all liked this post! Love, A x

Miners Fresh Faced concealers review!

About a week or so ago I received a nice little package from the people at Miners Cosmetics with a new addition to their Fresh Face range inside. I really like their Fresh Faced range as they do a very nice pale/beige color which works well with my skin tone. Anyway they have just released some concealers and I am going to try them out for you!

They come in these little tubes in the shades porcelain, peach and olive. As seen beneath:

I like the applicator on this concealer I have tried concealers that you click and they pump up through the bristles and I didn't really get along with that as I'd always end up using too much!

A close up of the applicator using the shade porcelain.

As I'm suffering with dark circles underneath my eyes at the moment I am going to put one of these to the test. I am going to use porcelain and then apply a bit of foundation over the top to recreate a natural daytime look.

I have nothing on my skin here and you can see I have dark circles under my eyes and a few spots and blemishes on my cheek and chin I'd like to cover up too.

Woah concealer'd!?! I ended up having to use loads underneath my eye, I'm not sure whether that was indicative of the concealer or my skin being dark because 99% of the time I am tired!

Et voila! I am very pleased with the finished look as I do suffer with dark circles.

It works on my skin.
Easy to apply.
Lightweight formula.
Very good value for money at £2.99
Parabens and SLS free!

It has a slight talcum powder smell to it.
I had to use a few slicks to get the amount on my face I was happy with.
There is only three shades.
There is a big jump between the porcelain and peach shades so would be tricky if you're inbetween.

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked this post. Love A x
