Pastel stripe nails

I haven't done a nail art post in a while and I took some inspiration from some pretty beach huts I saw the other day which looked so nice in the summer sunshine. I think this nail design is really easy to do and looks so cute for the summer too.

For this look, you will need:
Some pastel nail polishes
A white nail striper. If you don't have one of these you can use a white nail polish and dip a toothpick in and drag the polish along the nail in a line.

I used these colours as a base.

These are the polishes from left to right:

Barry M- 318 Peach Melba
Rimmel London-406 Cute as a Kitten Heel
Rimmel London- 874 Breakfast in Bed
Barry M- 304 Mint Green
Barry M- 305 Pink Flamingo
Rimmel London- 622 Oh Boy You're So Fine!!
Sinful Colours- 1033 Pistache
Rimmel London- 504 It's a Scorcher
Barry M- GNP 10 Lychee

I used the Model's Own nail art pen in white to do the striping. This cost me £6 from Boots.

From this pen I used the striper attachment to draw the stripes.

To draw the stripes, I started with one line in the middle.

I then drew a line either side.

This look is so easy to do and looks so cute too!

Breakfast in bed nails.

Hello, I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend. I'd like to just say I usually really dislike celebrity things like fragrances, cosmetics, eyelashes, fake tans etc but I must admit I am really really impressed with the Rita Ora collection from Rimmel London. I am a big fan of Rimmel London cosmetics and make up anyway too but I am really loving their nail polishes at the moment (as you may have seen in many previous posts)

This is the polish in the shade Breakfast in Bed. It's a lovely, very light, pastel blue colour. I think it's a really cute shade and would look great in some sandals on tanned tootsies!

The amethyst ring is from Topshop. My two midi rings are from River Island. And my thumb is looking red here because I got another ring I was going to wear stuck. Silly chubby hands!!

The nail polish may look a little chipped here but I painted my nails on the Friday night, went to work on Saturday and took my polish off this morning. I applied two coats and I was really happy with the finish. I'd totally recommend this polish or any colour from this range for that matter! Not only do they have great colours but cool names too!

Nude nails

Hi! I haven't painted my nails nor have I done a nails post in a long time. I bought a new polish on Monday in a really nice nude shade by Rita Ora by Rimmel London. I must admit I am usually quite sceptical of nude colours like this as they tend to take a lot of coats to get a decent all over shade. On the back of this polish it does say it's a one coat nail polish it took me about three to four coats to get a colour I was happy with.

I am pleased with the finished colour and they dried quickly too!
I'm just going to go around the edges of my fingernails with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover to get any excess off.

This Rimmel polish is called 513 Lets Get Nude and cost £3.69.

Just a little Boots Haul!

Hello!

I haven't posted in a while as I had some personal things going on, but I am back with a few more posts this week to get yourself a little dose of me in your lives ha! I hope you are well and are enjoying March so far.

Yesterday we popped into a bigger town not too far away and I made a pitstop in Boots and picked up a few bits. I got a lot of points vouchers through the post the other day and annoyingly I left them at home so I didn't get as many points as I would have liked.

Is this a bit of an odd thing to show, I'm not too sure..But most people use razors right?! Anyway I picked this one up as it was only £4ish. I haven't used this one before but my sister had and said it was good.

I also picked this one up too as it was at a reduced price. I like to stock up and they were both a lot cheaper than usual so I kinda had too right ha!

I got this Charles Worthington Mineral hair rescue masque for £1.99 as I haven't tried it before and my hair is looking a little dull and lack lustre at the moment.

I got this Real Techniques sponge which I had seen many positive reviews on.

I really like this nail polish remover. I find it gets rid of tough polish really easily and it doesn't have that overly strong typical nail polish remover scent. I think this is my favourite one I've used so far.

After using Herbal Essence's Bee Shine shampoo and conditioner for the best part of a year. I really liked that one and made my hair feel so lovely, soft and left it smelling really good. So I thought I'd try something new and as I dyed my hair about a month ago I've noticed my hair has been looking a bit dull so I got this colour protect to hopefully revive it!

I got this Rimmel London nail polish from the range by Rita Ora as I like the nude shade, I think it'll look really cool and understated. This colour is 513 Let's Get Nude.

I also picked up 212 by Carolina Herrera from a sample perfume gift set I got at Christmas. Out of about 10 different perfume samples the one you liked the most you could pop into your local Boots and get that in a 30ml bottle. I liked them all actually, but this one stood out the most to me. It's a delicate scent which you could wear day or night.

I think the bottle is really unique although I prefer bottles you can stand up.

I really like the musky/vanilla tones of this perfume. It's very strong and long lasting too.

Boots, Topshop and Primark haul!

I went into town with my sister yesterday to do a spot of shopping, we had some lunch at Pizza Hut and we even saw our grandparents too!

I'll start with Primark. Because it is the Holy Grail of shops after all..

I got this dark green jumper for £3 reduced from £6. It was in the men's department, in a large size as I prefer the oversized look and I saw a similar one in Urban Outfitters once which was a lot more expensive.

Topshop
I got two pieces of jewellery today, nothing else really took my fancy.
I liked this delicate little necklace. I really like the look of simple necklaces like this one that you could easily wear all the time.

So cute! And I don't usually wear gold jewellery either I tend to prefer silver. This was £4.50

I really like this chunky gold chain bracelet. It was £5.50

Boots
I picked up some face pads as I'm nearly running out! Then I bought a Boots tea tree and witch hazel face wash. This range is inexpensive, works a treat on me and leaves your skin feeling oh so soft! It's not a typical blogger buy but I love the Original Source shower gels. The line one smells so good!
I picked up a Seventeen primer as the one I use is a bit old and the pump no longer works which is annoying as it has about a quarter left and was very good. As I'm a bit of a magpie for nail polishes I also got a Seventeen graffiti polish, a Seventeen pearlescent polish and a Rimmel London bright orange polish too.

The pearlescent one is very similar to both a Topshop and a Model's Own shade. I really like the bright orange I think it would look really nice in the summer.

Each polish with two coats. The two nails on the left are the graffiti polish one with a black polish underneath and another just plain on a white nail wheel.

My favourite nail art wheel!

Hello everyone I hope you're all having a good week!

As you all may know I am slightly obsessed with all things nail arty! So I created this nail wheel of all my current favourite nail art ideas!

From the top white one going clockwise:
Barry M white with a black nail art pen to create the look of a moustache but now I think if looks more like a bat ha!

I used a collection lasting gel colour in coral reef with a black nail art pen.

I used a Barry M nail paint in Mint Green with a white nail art pen.

I used a Barry M nail paint in black. Then used a white nail art pen and drew a triangle from the top of the nail. I waited for that to dry and then used a black nail art pen to draw a bow tie and three small shirt buttons. I did a tutorial on this a few years ago which should be on my blog somewhere!

I then used a Gosh nail paint in the shade 569 Flamingo all over the nail. When that dried I drew a black stripe down the nail and coloured the other half in white. I find it easier to do it this way as I don't have a very steady hand. In the white side I used the liner side of a black nail art pen.

For this one I used a Rimmel London shade in Oh Boy You're So Fine. I waited for that to dry and then used a Barry M white polish to dab random spots and shapes on the nail. Then went round the white parts with a black nail art pen either dotting round them or a semi circle.

I used a Barry M colour in bright red. Then at the tip of the nail I drew some white lines. Once they dried i drew an anchor over the top with a black nail art pen.

I used a nude colour No7 colour for the base. I used a brown Barry M shade to randomly dot on the nail. Once that had dried I added extra details with a black nail pen around the brown dots or in any empty spaces.

For the top half of the nail I used a 17 yellow polish and I used an old eye shadow applicator as I lost my sponge and dabbed on the Barry M gelly nail paint in the colour mango. Once this had dried I drew a palm tree with a black nail art pen.

The base colour i used was Barry M paint in Cyan blue. Once that dried I used a white nail art pen to draw clouds.

I used an orange gelly nail polish in mango. At the bottom I used a black nail art pen and used a white pen to fill in the middle. Once that dried I wrote POW with a black nail art pen and used the white pen to add dots to the orange part.

I used the Barry M white paint for the base colour and a black nail art pen to draw the cross.

I used a blue/purple colour and drew an A on it with a black pen.

Next I used a Model's Own colour in 24 carat gold and went over the top with a Model's Own hed kandi in disco heaven. Over that I drew a lightning stripe shape with a black nail pen.

I used a collection lasting gel colour in Antique Rose and drew a black stripe down the middle. Then on the the other side i used the models own hed kandi glitter to add a bit of sparkle.

It's not really nail art but the next nail is possibly my favourite nail colour. It's black cherries by Rimmel London! I love it!

I used a Barry M black nail polish and used a matte polish at the tip of the nail.

And last but not least I used a collection nail polish in Look At Me and then used a black nail art pen to draw little zig zags across it.

Hollywood nails

Hello!!

I haven't done a nail art post in ages so after flicking through an old copy of Company Magazine I have decided to replicate the Hollywood sign nails they did a few months back. And I would say it was actually a lot easier to do than it looks.

You will need:
A light blue nail polish
An olive green nail polish
A few different shades of green too
One black nail art pen and a white nail art pen (if you don't own a pen you can always buy the dotting tools, use a thin paint brush or even use a toothpick)

I started by setting out 10 of the false nails I was going to use. I am a bit ocd and set them out in order from thumb to pinky. It makes it easier when it comes to putting them on.

When buying these falsies I always get the Kiss full cover nails, either in the square tip or oval. They cost £6.49 from Boots for a box of 100.

These are the polishes I used (L-R)
Bourjois so laque ultra shine in Lime Catwalk
NYC 298 in High Line Green
Rimmel London Lycra pro 520 in Camouflage Chic
Barry M nail paint 66 in Matte White
17 Lasting Fix in Heartbeat
A black and white nail art pens which I got at the ideal home exhibition ages ago. Similar can be found on amazon or Ebay.
Lastly a Collection polish in black which I didn't need in the end.

To be able to paint the false nail easier I wrapped some blu tac around a chopstick I found in my desk drawer (it was unused, I'm not that messy) but a pencil can be used too. I then placed the nail on top resting it in the blu tac which'll hold it in place and painted it.

I used two coats of the polish on each nail and left them to dry for a few minutes. This created the look of the sky in the background.

I then used an old make up sponge and coated one edge with the olive green colour and dabbed it onto the bottom half of the false nail creating the look of the greenery beneath the hollywood sign.

Ta da! I left this to dry for a few minutes.

I then used the paintbrush and did thin strokes of the Bourjois and NYC polish to give the look of different plants and colours. If it went a bit wrong I just touched it up with the green Rimmel polish.

I washed off the paintbrush and dipped it into the Barry M nail polish and onto the blue parts dabbed on smudgy dots to create the illusion of clouds.

Using the white nail art pen I used the squeezy dotting side and spelled out the word Hollywood along with an exclamation mark.

I then went around the letters with a black nail art pen to create the illusion of a shadow, making each letter stand out.

I think I'm addicted to shopping on my lunch break...

Hello everyone!! I hope you've all had a good weekend. I went to work yesterday and it wasn't too busy which was nice but it got a bit boring after a while. At work I have an hour lunch break in which I get some food and say hello to my friend Sam who works in the bakery opposite. I sometimes sit in the park nearby with a book or a magazine or meet someone in town. Recently I have noticed that for about the last month or so I have been working I have bought some things on my lunch break.. for the last couple of months I have noticed and become accustomed to the fact I can't walk into a Boots/Superdrug (drugstore for all you non British folk ha) without buying something. Big or small I will come out with something.

When I worked on the Wednesday just gone I bought three more nail varnishes as they were on offer. plus I don't have those shades so I kinda had to get them, right?!

I got this MUA nail varnish in Deepest Purple for a £1

I like this Rimmel London nail Varnish in a shade called Black Cherries.  I like the rich colour of this one, its a really deep reddy purple colour and it makes me feel grown up.
I've been looking for a nice purple/lilac colour for a while and this Rimmel London one was the nicest one I saw.  This one is called Oh Boy You're So Fine!! (I have massive love for Rimmel London nail varnish names haha!)

Then yesterday on my lunch break I was looking around the town and went into oxfam. The one near where I work is great as you can always find a few gems hidden away.

I picked up these two and I love them already-

I picked up these beautiful copies of Catch 22 and Pride and Prejudice for 99p!!

I'll keep you all updated on my lunchtime spending habits! Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it. A .x

Nails of the day

I thought I'd go with something slightly different today on my nails today!

I used one coat of Camoflage Chic by Rimmel London and it provided a nice, shiny even coverage :)
