OOTD

So I have a few days off work and shock horror I'm up and out of bed before half 10!

I don't have anything planned to do today which'll be nice. I'll get myself up to date on my blog and with emails. Clean my room and I may (keyword here is may) take on the mammoth task of sorting out my wardrobe. .

Anyway my outfit of the day today is primarily from New Look.

Geometric print jumper- New Look

Versatile blogger award

Hello guys sorry it's been a while but what with work and my second cold of autumn/winter (boo) I couldn't find the time to write a new post.

So the lovely Alyssa at Waking Up in Blush who's a gorgeous fashion and beauty blogger, I would totally recommend you to check out her blog. She nominated me for the versatile blogger award and I am so so flattered!

The rules of this award are as followed:
  • You must display the Versatile Blogger award somewhere on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you in the post you'd do on it
  • Within your blog post you write 7 facts about yourself then you must nominate 7 other bloggers.
So, here goes!

  1. I can't make a decision. I can't ever decide what I want for lunch most days so I have no idea how I'll ever make a serious decision in life.
  2. One time when I was little I cried when my feet grew and I had to get new shoes as I didn't want to grow up and have big feet.
  3. I've never had a best friend before. I've had a lot of friends but never that one person I could always turn to or rely on.
  4. I'm afraid of ghosts or anything paranormal, the dark and I have an irrational fear of birds. Especially when they fly really near to you.
  5. My favourite subject when I was at school was French. I wish in some ways I carried it on.
  6. There are so many places in the world I'd love to go to. One of my favourite things to do is to travel whether it be abroad or just going to somewhere new in the UK.
  7. I am a massive foodie. I love eating and trying new things but I have a major sweet tooth so anything chocolatey or sugary sounds good to me!
And the lovely bloggers I am nominating!

Pretty little peplums

Peplum will still remain as a big trend into next season, thanfully. Perfect for all shapes and sizes, paired with a bodycon skirt or even those 'ole faithful pair of jeans, you can style it up for a glam look or dress it with jeans and flats for a daytime style too. What's not to love!

Here are some of my favourite new peplum pieces off the high street this season.

Bow hairstyle

As much as I'd love this to be a tutorial post about how to tie your hair into a bow, 'cause they look so pretty and cool, it is not.

I went out to the pub tonight with one of my best friends Vicki, and I quickly tied my hair up and somehow managed to accidentally tie into a bow?!?!?!

I would love to know for the life of me how exactly I did it.

PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME FOR THE PALENESS OF MY SKIN.

How, just how?!!?

On the brightside my hair looks wonderfully shiny!!

Liebster award....

Hello!

So Megan at MissMadAboutNails has nominated me for the Liebster Award which i'm really happy about! I don't want to come across as big headed or anything like that but I have realised that this  is the fifth time I have been nominated and its not that I am not grateful or appreciative of this, I have just done quite a few and I don't want it to come across as repetitive for you all to read and most of all I don't want to deter you from reading my posts.

Anyway! I'm going to state the 11 facts about myself and answer Megan's questions as truth be told I like doing these types of things and letting people know about my weird and wonderful quirks!

11 Things you probably didn't need to know about me!

1) I am afraid of the ocean and would never get on a cruise. I think the ocean scares me as it goes down and down and down for miles. I feel ok when I can see what is underneath me but when you can and then it gets to that pitch black bit where anything could be lurking it creeps me out. And with cruises, I see why people would do it as you have got practically everything you'd ever need onboard but I hate boats and sailing and everything like that anyway so I wouldn't feel comfortable at all.

2) My favourite fruit pastel colour is the black one..or is it purple? Either way I like the darkest one!

3)When I was about 8 me and a friend entered a school talent show and we dressed as hula girls and made up a really bad (at the time we thought it was great) dance routine to Agadoo. *This is shamefully 100% true. Eurgh and we didn't even win!!!

4)I'd really like to do a first aid course as I think that would be really helpful to know. I also think it should be taught in schools. As in my opinion it would be a lot more useful to do and learn than making people do cross country when they have no aptitude for physical education anyway *AHEM MR MORRIS*..

5)When I was little my dream job was to be a banker. Which looking back is really dull as most 4 year olds dreamt of being a princess or an astronaut and I wanted to be a banker..

6) I would love to have a food fight.

7)If i won the lottery I would love to buy lots of puppies and kittens and also install a massive library room in my mansion home with a rolling ladder.. A girl can dream, right ;)

8) I love watching cookery shows on tv. Anything from Jamie's 15 or 30 minute meals, Gordon Ramsey's plethora of tv shows, Barefoot Contessa, Man Vs Food, You Gotta Eat Here. You name it I'll have probably watched it.

9) When I was younger I used to hate my freckles, they were a lot darker and I was a lot paler. But now I don't mind them and sometimes I forget that they are there. I don't know if that makes me sound gross like I don't wash.. I do wash. I promise.

10)I've never really had a pet before. My sister and I had goldfish when we were younger but they don't really count in my opinion as you can't really play with a fish.

11) I love travelling. There are so many places around the world that I would love to visit one day.

Questions from Megan!
What's your all time favourite foundation?
Wake me up foundation from Rimmel is amazing! I've used it for about a year now and wouldn't think about buying a new one!

How long have you been blogging?
One year today. WOO.

If you could use one brand of makeup from the high street for the rest of your life which one would you choose?
Even though I am a big fan of BarryM's nail polishes I would have to say I would choose Rimmel as I love the foundation and the eye shadows they do.

Describe yourself in three words?
Fun, lively, kind.

Jeans or dresses?
Dresses.

Heels or flats?
Flats.

How long do you spend blogging a week?
Oooh it's hard to say probably about 2-3 hours per week.

My twitter is @_abfabx follow me that'll be nice!

What colour are your nails right now?
Just a clear coat as I'm working tomorrow :(

What mascara would you recommend to everyone in the world if you had the chance to?
Benefit's They're Real. SO GOOD. The first time I used it like five of my friends asked if they were fake eyelashes and I said "no, no they are not. They're Real".

Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed this little insight into the world of me! Love, A.x

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG!

Hello!!

So a year ago today I started my blog and boy has the time flown by. I still remember writing my first blog post when I got in from sixth form, unsure on what to write and nervously punching that publish button. Will people like it? I thought. Wait no, what if no one reads it? Was something else that popped into my head. I posted the link to it on my twitter so all my friends could read it too and got a few views which made me very happy. By this point I may have had about 1 or 2 followers as at the time two of my friends were writing blogs about music, but as time went on they have slowly given up doing it.

Anyway! What I'm basically trying to say is a massive THANK YOU to each and every one of you who took the time to follow my blog whether it be by Gfc or Google+ or Bloglovin and also a big big thank you for just reading it and those who comment on it too! It means the absolute world to me!

I didn't start this blog with the intentions of it to get where it is today, I know I don't have as many followers as some other people, but to me I have a lot more than I ever anticipated.

Blogging has made me grow as a person, I feel a lot more confident and really love writing about things I care about. And it's so wonderful when I get comments and feedback from other people about it too.

I have formed friendships because of this and love being a part of this blogging community.

So basically, thank you everyone, you have helped shape me into the person I am today and in all honesty sometimes I genuinely don't know what I'd do with my time if it weren't for my blog!

Thanks again!! Here's to another year, love, A x
