Hurray!!

I had my last exam today until the summer and it went so much better than I expected, after revising over christmas and cramming yesterday and this morning I thought I'd never remember it all, and during the exam to say I needed to know a tenth of what I revised wouldn't be an exaggeration! Unlike some exams I've had I didn't leave with a particular feeling of whether it went well or not.. But at least its another weight of my mind meaning I can go out and enjoy my weekend of no revision (also my birthday on sunday when i'll be turning 18!!!) exciting times! A. x

Spring trends for 2013 #1 flats and kitten heels

Pointy heels have made a come back from the 90's and this time they've been modernized with all sorts of things from ankle straps, embellishments  to cylindrical heels. This isn't saying that high heels aren't in fashion at the moment, but just these smaller heels or flats are a nice, fashionable option too. They'll look really stylish when worn with a pair of boyfriend style jeans or even a pair of Bermuda shorts.

Chanel haute couture S/S 2013

A palace, 90 oak trees and more than 3000 thousand bushes can only mean one thing, Chanel haute couture. This is as close to nature as I would have wanted to get! Lagerfeld brought his designs to life at the Grand Palais, by infusing both the natural backdrop of the setting with the contemporary designs for this season. A few British models were in the show like Stella Tenant and one of my favourite models at the moment, Cara Delevigne. I especially loved the monochrome look for this season as well as the smoky eyes and up do looks used in this show. 
Chanel's global creative director applied mesh lashes onto the lash lines of the models. To give each model the look of a dark,eerie fairy the smoky effect was emphasised to create the look of a deep black shadow. 
International hair stylist Sam McKnight exaggerated the up do for the models giving it an organised yet chaotic feel. 
This season, Chanel played it big with textures using lace, silk and cotton.

Exam #1 DONE!!

This morning I had my english a2 level exam. Needless to say I was nervous. A quick skim over my notes for an hour at 7am this morning especially the first couple of scenes, and what scene came up in the exam and what scene came up in the exam i hear you cry..... ACT ONE SCENE ONE!! I felt like singing Oh Happy Day.. as it was a two hour exam split between two essays I spent the first hour doing the King Lear essay and the second hour was a compare and contrast between two texts, one of which came up in class a few months ago and we did for homework! I don't want to tempt fate but I hope they went ok :)

Exam #1

Hello there, how are you?! 

12 hours time from writing this blog so half nine on tuesday 22nd  January I will have started my english a2 exam. ARGH! I have done quite a bit of revision but the night before it never feels like enough and quite frankly I am nervous. English was always my strong point throughout lower school and I always spend a lot of time reading books. But my exam tomorrow is split into two. One side is about Shakespeare's play King Lear and we've had to get used to the play as a passage from it will come up and we've got to figure out where its from.. we aren't allowed to take the book into the exam either. The other half is unseen texts so we'll be given two different extracts and we'll have to write an essay analysing and comparing them to each other! All within the space of two hours, wish me luck!
