Liebster Award

Hello!

I haven't done much blogging in November so far as I have had a little bit of a "blogger's writing block" and have been at a loss when it came to posting or coming up with interesting ideas's for posts. With the help of a few other blogger's on the #bbloggers chat on twitter last night, I woke up this morning with loads of ideas so watch out for an influx of posts in the next few days!

Libby and Steph from Roses and Ringlets have kindly nominated me for the Liebster Award. I am hugely touched and would love it if you'd check their blog out too. They do great reviews on a lot hair and beauty products so go and click that link!!

The rules of the Liebster Award are:
  1. You nominate someone with less than 200 followers.
  2. You must then put the logo somewhere in the post and on your blog so others know you've been nominated.
  3. Write 11 facts about yourself
  4. Answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated you set for you to answer.
  5. Also link the blogger who nominated you.
  6. Nominate 11 other bloggers.
  7. Finally, you must write 11 questions for the nominees to answer.

11 facts about me!
  1. I like to make people laugh.
  2. I really don't like travelling on planes..Yet I want to travel the world.
  3. I want to get an iPhone but I don't know whether to get a 4s, a 5 or a 5c??
  4. I'm a typical English person. I like a nice cup of tea and complain about the weather, a lot.
  5. I have never been body confident.
  6. Curly Wurly's are my favourite chocolate bars. They are so nice if you dip them into coffee or tea!
  7. I have weird 'phobias'. I don't want to call them phobias because I'm not really afraid of them, I just really really don't like them. For example I hate walking in front of people on the stairs, I don't really know why haha. Also mohair. I hate the feel of mohair.
  8. When I was younger, my sister and I had literally no relationship at all. Now we get on really well, which is nice :)
  9. I'm a very fussy eater.
  10. I miss school a little bit. Apart from PE I had no aptitude for physical education whatsoever.
  11. I like cheese.
Questions from Libby and Steph!

Favourite film?
I like the film Goodfella's. It's a bit gruesome so If I wanted to watch something funny I think it'd be Bridesmaids.

Staple beauty items?
Black mascara and a black liquid liner on my lids is my favourite look.

If you could use only one make up brand what would it be?
If I could afford it I'd love to be able to buy lots of MAC or Chanel products! But realistically I think it would be Rimmel or Maybelline.

A/W or S/S Fashion and why?
A/W because I love cosy knits and ankle boots.

Favourite books?
My favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I'm halfway through reading The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul and so far I'm really enjoying it! After that I'm planning on reading John Green's The Fault in Our Stars and from what I've heard it sounds like a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

Make up and fashion item you are wanting at the moment?
I really want this shirt from New Look. I've been lusting after it for ages.
Red Pattern (Red) Burgundy Heart Print Shirt | 283809769 | New Look
And the make up item I really want is a new foundation as mine is running out.

Favourite clothes shop?
It's a toughie. I am a big fan of Topshop and Urban Outfitters but it's too expensive to shop in there all the time. At the minute I'd say my favourites are New Look, Primark and H&M.

Dream job? why?
I'm not really sure. I'd love to be a charity worker abroad, or owning my own cupcake shop. It changes daily for me.

Favourite season and why?
Autumn because everything looks so pretty.

Favourite bloggers?
Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter and Fleur De Force.

Favourite winter food and drink?
My favourite winter foods are warm, yummy  comfort foods, like soups. Favourite winter drink is a hot chocolate. I love the Costa mint hot chocolate.

My questions for my nominees!
  1. What is your favourite food?
  2. Favourite online shopping sites?
  3. One beauty product you could not live without?
  4. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
  5. Lipgloss or Lipstick?
  6. What inspired you to start blogging?
  7. What is your favourite thing about yourself?
  8. Baths or showers?

Confessions Of a Blogger tag!

Hello!!

I haven't blogged for about a week or so now as I haven't really known what to talk about. I have had a few ideas on posts I just didn't know how to put them into words so they've been sat in my drafts until I can figure out the right words to use. PS I hope you all had a lovely Halloween and bonfire night too as I haven't posted since then.

Renny from Sincerely Renny has kindly tagged me for the Confessions Of a Blogger tag and i'm not going to lie to you all I hadn't actually heard of it until she said but I am mega grateful nonetheless so THANK YOU Renny!!

When did you start your blog?
September 2012 I wrote my first blog post. I set up my blog in the summer but I didn't know where or how to start!

Have you had any other online presence before? (like other blogs or a Youtube channel)
No. This is my first and only blog :)

Why did you start your blog?
At the time I had dreams of becoming a journalist and one of the best ways of getting into journalism was to put my writing out there and for many people to see it. I wanted to write about things I am passionate about or just stuff I want to share with others.

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
The same day I wrote my first post I wanted to upload more and more and more. You get this weird feeling inside when you see that your page views increase even by 1 more look makes me excited and I still can't believe I have got to where I am today.

What was your first post?
My first post was a short little one all about me and what my blog should include!

Where do you see your blog in a year?
I'd love to be able to answer that with a straight forward "..hopefully bigger and better" But I don't even really know what I'll be doing tomorrow let alone what I'll be doing in a year's time! I'll tell you what I do know, that I absolutely love blogging and all you wonderful people who take the time to read the things I witter on about so in a year's time I'll still be here, kittens will still be looking super cute in top hats and hopefully I'll know what I'll be doing by then :)

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
I love getting to know this wide and wonderful blogging community. Sometimes the simplest comment can brighten my day. Ooh also I love having a look at the audience map on my blog. It never ceases to amaze me how people from literally all over the world have a look at my blog!

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
So far I have been quite lucky and haven't faced anything like this yet. Sure I may not have had as many comments or pageviews on a post I tried hard on but I'm not expecting to get many either. Then again when I do I think it always makes me a little bit more grateful.

What's your lasting motivation/inspiration?
A lot of the blogs I follow and the blogger's that follow me inspire me and motivate me to keep going. I am passionate about writing and blogging so I think it helps that I love doing this, a lot.

I tag every blogger who's reading this to take part!

But I want to tag some of my favourite bloggers to take part with this too!

Thanks for reading, I really hope you liked this post! Love, A x

Halloween make up!!

Happy Halloween all you ghosts and ghouls!!

Ever since I was small I have enjoyed Halloween, from the dressing up, to the sweets, trick or treating and apple bobbing too.  I have decided to do a half face make up look with one half a skull and the other half just normal make up.

I used a black and white face paint. An old liquid black eyeliner and an eyeliner pencil to add smaller details like on the teeth and the waterline of my eye.

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it! Love, A x

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers- L.M. Montgomery

Autumn is probably my favourite season. The crisp, cold mornings followed by the sunny afternoons. The colours changing on the trees, Halloween, pumpkin carving, the conkers falling off the trees. Knitwear is also a must for autumn whether that be a comfy jumper or a nice scarf or snood.

Not too far from where I live is a lovely national trust place and in the Autumn it looks so pretty there with the wonderful display of pretty, colourful leaves. I went there today with Mum and although it was a bit of a drab day, I think I got some nice photos!

Leaves and conkers on the ground.

One of the cute little grotto's there.

Like a mirror reflection

I love the colour of these leaves.

There were so many coins thrown into the lake.

Another cute little old building.

I love these windows.

Inside there was this chair made out of an old tree stump.

Also inside the old building were labels you could take and write down memories on, which I thought was a really cool idea.

Here's a tree inside covered in other people's memory labels. It was hard to resist not to read them all!

Inside another grotto were a few statues. Here is one of them.

The view from the grotto.

Inside the grotto.

There was a hole in the roof letting light in.

The grotto.

Another statue.

Another view from inside the grotto.

This sign was placed above the exit of the grotto. I think it's latin???

Such a pretty leaf!!

Mum reading something (world's most pointless caption)

It also has a church there too.

My 'I spent too much, payday is too far away and now i'm sad' haul

HELLO! How are you all, you lovely lot?

So yesterday I splurged. What makes it worse is that payday is a lot further away than I originally thought so it looks like I won't be doing anything until then..

But here are the things that I got:

I got this coat in Primark for £25 and I  love it! I saw it on another blogger's post and I really liked it.

This is the material of the coat. it's really soft and cosy.

I really like the oversized look.

And I love the giant pockets. Perfect for hiding vaseline tins in, in the winter!

I also picked up some sweets to leave in my car.

I got this red velvet skirt in Primark for £8. I'm looking forward to wearing it on a night out  with a leather jacket and cut out boots.

I also got these two books in W H Smith for £8.99 for them as they were  in a buy one get one for a £1 special offer. I have started reading The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul already and I really like it so far.  The story is about five different women from all walks of life who meet in the coffee shop. I think I was drawn to this book as I thought the plot was quite intriguing as I don't really know much about Afghanistan other than the War and it's been quite interesting to read about a different side and about the difficulties women face in this country.

I also picked up The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I'd been looking for this for ages and was quite glad to see it sitting on the shelf. I've never read a John Green novel as yet and it's no surprise he has such a vast following and I only read a few pages. For those who aren't aware of the story, it is narrated through the point of view of Hazel a 16 year old cancer patient (I can tell already I'm going to cry reading this book) Hazel's parent's make her go along support group where she meets Augustus, an amputee, and subsequently falls in love with him.

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked this post! Love, A x
